Manzanita Overpass captures the stark geometry of elevated concrete structures set against an expansive blue sky. The sharp converging lines pull the viewer into the depth of the space, creating a sense of both openness and confinement.
The painterly textures emphasize the contrast between bright, open sky, the rough, dusty ground plane, and the murky, shadowed area below the curving concrete planes, transforming a utilitarian roadway into a study of rhythm and shifting light.
Having lived in Marin for many years, this view from the “airporter” bus stop between Mill Valley and Sausalito is etched in my mind.
Printed at 2400 x 1200 dpi with archival 12-color pigment inks on acid and lignin-free mold-made copperplate paper, these prints offer exceptional longevity (200+ years) and tonal fidelity. Unlike dye-based prints, the pigment ink rests on the textured paper surface, producing a visual depth and tactile quality comparable to traditional etchings or lithographs.
Each limited edition print includes a certificate of authenticity printed on premium, watermarked paper with fluorescent security fibers. The certificate is attached to a serialized, tamper-proof hologram that matches an identical hologram permanently affixed to the reverse side of the artwork and corresponds to an edition log on a third-party artwork registry.
Please Note: Screen colors often appear more vivid than printed images because digital displays actively emit light, while prints rely on reflected light, resulting in softer, natural tones.
